　露地に点在する石は、右に左にと打ち込まれて、踏む足によどみを与える事なく、自然のうちに、歩みを規制する。露地の両側の植込みも、飛石の蛇行に応じて、ロケーションの変化を見せて、微妙な展開を見せる。
　蹲踞が、青竹の樋から落ちる水の音に、しずみ込むように落着きを見せ、たたえられて流れる水は、時代をおびた石肌を清めるように濡らしている。石肌についた苔の色も美しい。客はここで、手を洗い口を漱いで、清浄な気分になる。
　たき込められた香が、そこはかとなくにおい、釜の湯は松籟の音とたぎる。床には墨跡が掛けられ、客に対する主人の心ゆきが読みとられ、また一輪の花が季節を盛り、席中に色香を新しく添えてくれる。まったく、静寂そのものの境涯なのである。
　The stones in the garden path are arranged to curve from left to right. This slows the person's steps without hindering them, naturally controlling the person's walking. The shrubbery on both sides of the garden path matches the path's meandering, changing subtly as it shows the variation in the scenery/garden/view.
　The stone washbowl along with the sound of water falling from the bamboo pipe displays a deep sense of calmness, and the flowing water fills the ancient/old stone bowl wetting it as if purifying it. The color of the moss on the stone is also beautiful. Guests wash their hands and rinse their mouths here and feel purified.
　The scent of burning incense can be vaguely smelt, and the sound of water boiling in an iron teakettle accompanies the sigh of the wind through the pine trees. A zen priest's calligraphy in an alcove shows the host's heart, and a single flower brings the season to the room and adds color and a scent to all seats. There is a world of absolute silence.
